LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
Reliving the mysteries from the movies! LEGO has made a paradigm shift from it’s building blocks stable to the video-gaming domain with it’s latest offering: LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures.
As the name suggests, the storyline for the game is borrowed from the Indiana Jones series, and the characters portrayed in the game have been created using the Lego figures, lending them a kitschy and lovable look. The settings for the game are almost identical to the ones in the movies. However, the various levels in the game are more than just an imitation of the original settings, with a lot of artistic and creative touches lent into the game environment.
Lego has made it a point to dish out many of the iconic scenes from the movies into unique creations with a whole new feel. Keeping to the original theme of the movies, the game revolves around visiting ancient temples through thick forests, solving puzzles on the way, and in the process, graduate to further levels. Though the difficulty levels of these puzzles aren’t much, they are guaranteed to be real addictive.
In fact, though certain levels in the game seem to be very simple, you would be hooked to playing this. And as always, apart from the puzzles and games, there are armies of soldiers that you’ll have to fight against and ward off in order to finish a level. An excellent rip-off from the movie, the action sequences have been abstracted into this game with much finesse. If you are a hardcore Lego fan, you wouldn’t be disappointed because there are many places in the game where the player has to build things using Lego blocks.
Ah, the joy of playing a wonderful game incorporated with your favorite Lego blocks. Though these tasks are a little demanding at times, it’s absolute fun nevertheless. It is sort of experiencing the best of both the worlds and Lego definitely needs to be commended for their eeffort.
Now lets come to the gaming console. This game can be played out using Xbox 360, PS3, DS, Wii or even your PC. I personally have tested the game using my Xbox 360, and the controls seem to be pretty fine. The only place where I had trouble finishing assignments before time were the ones involving Lego bricks, and this was because it was both laborious and takes time until one gets used to the controls in the game.
Overall, the game was a nice experience, and definitely a fresh lease of gaming amidst all the hardcore action and racing games. If you are looking for some clean fun solving puzzles and mysteries in the backdrop of the Indy Jones themes, this definitely is a thumbs up recommendation for you.
